Jaedin's survival writing

Monday 10th July
Today I decided to clean out the water tank but first I had, 6 strawberries, 3 pieces of damper bread and a biscuit for breakfast. After that I started cleaning out the water tank, I used a bucket and the tarpaulin when I took the lid off the tank I screamed because I saw a dead possum. I grabbed it out with the bucket and chucked it over the fence and carried on with my job. For diner I had a piece of fruit cake and four pieces of damper bread.Tomorow I want to kill the hen and have hen soup.

Tuesday- day 2
This morning when I woke up, I went outside and got some eggs and a tomato for my breakfast. While I was waiting for the eggs to boil, I heard a strange noise. It sounded like one of the chickens were being attacked.
I went to investigate and found that I was half right, because the chickens were attacking each other! I tried to break it up, but they just started pecking me. I started to wonder if there was something wrong with these chickens or I just came in and ruined their fun.
After all that, I got a bit thirsty, so when I finished stitching up all my bruises, I went to the water tank to get a drink. When I got to the water tank, I stepped in something wet… I looked down… I couldn’t believe my eyes… IT WAS WATER FROM THE WATER TANK! The tank had rusted through, springing a leak! There was approximately two buckets left. I knew I had to do something.
So I cut off some bandage, which luckily I had in the first aid kit, and stuck it over the hole and got some water. Right now I’m in lots of pain, lying in bed, writing this diary.

Survival Writing

This term we are off to camp. Leading up to this we are thinking about safety and survival. We have been keeping a creative diary based on this idea.

Here is the challenge...

The challenge:
You have to spend 5 nights alone in an isolated army training compound in the Tasmanian Highlands. You are taken there by helicopter on Sunday afternoon, left completely alone and not be picked up until Friday morning.

It is July.

You are given before you go: clothing, a plan of the place, a list of the things you will find there and an empty backpack.

Each day we are given a 'chance card'. This card reveals some problem that we encounter. We have to consider how we will face the problem and keep track of what we did each day in our diary.

Check out some of the awesome writing that we have been doing.

Inquiry Learning

Angus and Caden have been busy using their notes and developing their presentation for their Art Inquiry.

Learning with ipads

Here Paige and Shakyra are using the ipads to research their key question, "What is Art?". They found some very inspirational quotes to help them answer their question.

Art, Art, Art.

This term we are carrying out an inquiry called Our Place - Our Art. We are following the Action Learning Process to learn more about Art from Northland and New Zealand. These are some of the tapa that we have created in class using pastel, vivid and dye.
